Family Names Part 2

Today's post covers family names at Emmett and Anne's generation.  See Family Names Part 1 for a description of the names of Emmett and Anne's children.  In the future I will have another post on family names.

Fab 5 Names
I will start by looking on the Fenlon side of the family and Emmet and his siblings.

Edward John Fenlon, Jr. is an easy place to start, he was obviously named after his father.  Emmett Martin Fenlon gained his middle name from his maternal uncle, Martin Kilcoyne.
(L to R): Edward J. Fenlon, Jr., Mary Treacy Degnan, Anne Treacy Fenlon, Emmett Martin Fenlon, Edward J. Fenlon, Sr., John A. Treacy on 28 May 1938 at 123 Woodland Ave., Syracuse
Martin Kilcoyne (b 1866) with his sister Elizabeth Kilcoyne Fenlon (b 1878)
Clara Elizabeth Kilcoyne (Aunt Clara) was named after her maternal aunt, Clara Ella Kilcoyne who, along with her sister Jane "Anna" Kilcoyne, helped raise the Fab 5. Neither Clara ever married. Aunt Clara's middle name is for her mother.
Clara Elizabeth Fenlon (1911-2003) in 1938.

Elizabeth, Clara, and Anna Kilcoyne ca. 1880s.
The Kilcoyne Family ca 1902. (front row, L to R): Clara, Patrick, Barbara (née Coyne), Patrick. (back row) Anna, Willie, Elizabeth (Lizzie), and Martin.
Marcella Anne Fenlon may have been named after the town in which she was born, Marcellus, NY.  I do not know of an ancestor of hers with this name. Marcella's twin sister, Mary Agnes Fenlon, may have been named after a number of Marys in her family tree.  One possibility is her father's sister Mary who lived and died in Ireland. Another possibility is one of her maternal great-grandmothers: Mary O'Malia Kilcoyne or Mary Condry Coyne. A final possibility might be her mother's first cousin, Mary Welsh, who lived in Auburn.
Edward J. Fenlon, Jr., Mary Fenlon Smith, Marcella Fenlon Dirnhofer, and Francis Dirnhofer in Sep 1957.

Treacy Names
On the Treacy side, Anne's sister Mary Genevieve Treacy Degnan appears to be named after both of her grandmothers: Mary Hayes Treacy (1842-1913) and Mary MacMillan MacDonell (1846-1926).
Mary "Maidie" G. Treacy Degnan (1906-1969)
Hugh MacDonell and Mary MacMillan MacDonell, grandparents of Maidie, ca 1910.
I am not sure who Anne is named after. One possibility is her maternal aunt, Mary Anne MacDonell (b 1877) who was called "Annie."  A second possibility is her great aunt, Anne MacMillan MacDonald who lived in Glen Nevis, Ontario.
Anne L. Treacy Fenlon with Emmett John Fenlon ca. 1939
I am not sure who Catherine Victoria Treacy Kelly is named after, but Aunt Janet mentioned in a previous post that John Treacy always said Catherine's middle name was for Our Lady of Victory (the Blessed Virgin Mary).
Catherine Treacy Kelly and Frank Kelly in 1937.
